Since debuting in 2009, Live from the Artists Den has earned a reputation for knowing which artists were poised to not just break big but totally blow up, featuring early sets from Adele (maybe you’ve heard of her?), Alabama Shakes, Zac Brown Band, and Ed Sheeran. It has also afforded acts the chance to play unique, historic, and gorgeous venues their tours wouldn’t normally stop in.
The 10th season, kicking off this weekend, features Hozier commanding the stage of the intimate, stunning Theater at LA’s Ace Hotel, alt-J at the Hall of the American Legion, Marina and the Diamonds at the fabled New York Hall of Science, and Gary Clark Jr. returning to the venue where he was first discovered, Antone’s in Austin, Texas.
Today, EW is excited to share Hozier’s performance of “Cherry Wine” from the season debut. “The Artists Den is inspiring and challenging at the same time,” the 26-year-old wrote in an email to EW describing the experience. “As a performer who has done a lot of concerts the past two years, it’s rewarding to be a part of a show with such a rich history of great performances in all these remarkable settings.” Throughout the hour-long episode, the singer performs much of his 2014 self-titled debut for the 1,600-seat audience and shares stories from his extensive touring.
